Your surgeon or clinical team will provide any instructions specific to your treatment. The outline below helps you understand the usual flow of the day.

01

Arrive and check in

Come to Suite 201, Level 2, 35 Spring Street. Allow up to 4 hours for parking or drop-off, check-in, preparation, treatment, recovery, and discharge.

02

Eye measurements are rechecked

An orthoptist will recheck your eye measurements and the team will confirm your scans before treatment proceeds.

03

Final checks with your clinical team

Your surgeon and team will review everything and guide you through the next steps.

04

Preparation before the laser room

Patients are usually given oral sedation to help them stay relaxed and comfortable. Your eyelids are carefully cleaned to help lower the risk of infection.

05

Treatment, rest, and discharge

After laser treatment, you will rest, receive something to eat and drink, and be reviewed by your surgeon before you leave.

What to wear

Dress comfortably for a cool treatment room.

Wear comfortable, loose clothing, a warm layer, and socks. The laser room is kept cool.

Please avoid eye or facial makeup, perfume, aftershave, hairspray, and oily creams around the eyes.

Food and drink

You do not need to fast. Please eat and drink normally unless your surgeon has told you otherwise.

Contact lenses

Follow your surgeon's instructions about when to stop wearing contact lenses before treatment.

After treatment

You will rest at the centre, receive something to eat and drink, and see your surgeon before your accompanying adult takes you home.
